One day, years from now, you’ll find yourself holding photographs that feel like tiny pieces of your heart made visible. You’ll know every face, every gesture, every sliver of light—yet somehow they’ll still move you. They’ll guide you back to moments you never realize how much you'd long for.

A documentary style family photographer in Calgary, Alberta.
For over seven years now, I’ve been photographing people in the genuine, every day moments of their normal lives – the moments where they forget the camera is even there.
When you invite me to document your family’s story, I do so through the lens of my own lived experience – with a deep understanding of how hard, how sweet, how chaotic, and how once-in-a-lifetime this season truly is. When I photograph you, I do so while thinking about the version of you decades from now; what they’ll want to remember, what will bring them back here.
And I think 60, 70, 80-year-old you is going to want to look back at photos of the tickle wars and pillow fights; the quiet hugs and big laughs; the messy mornings making breakfast and the golden summer afternoons running through the sprinkler. So no, I won't be photographing you while you all sit perfectly posed on your couch – but, I will make sure you have honest, meaningful, photos of your family exactly as they are now. The kind of moments worth remembering.
more about the experience
A documentary style family photographer in Calgary, Alberta.
For over seven years now, I’ve been photographing people in the genuine, every day moments of their normal lives – the moments where they forget the camera is even there.
I photograph the scrunch of your toddlers nose when they laugh, the soft spikiness of your daughters first pony tail, the quiet glow of the sun in your kitchen on a saturday afternoon.
I'’m drawn to the gentle, unposed moments. I observe. I create room for genuine connection and emotion, documenting the kind of beauty that only appears when people feel free to just be. These are the memories worth remembering.
The anticipation of welcoming your newest little one is a feeling all its own. Loving someone so deeply before you’ve met them feels almost unbelievable — knowing them only by their heartbeat, their movements, and a grainy ultrasound image pinned to the fridge. You imagine who they might become, who they’ll look like, and how they’ll change your family in ways you can’t yet understand. Soon, it will be impossible to remember life without them. But right now, you’re here, in this fleeting in-between, carrying both the waiting and the wonder. It’s a tender, nostalgic season, and one worth remembering. I would be honoured to capture it for you.
There is nothing quite like those first days with your newborn – when time feels suspended and the world quietly shrinks down to feedings, soft breaths, and the weight of them resting on your chest. After all the wondering and waiting, they’re finally here, and suddenly you’re learning the shape of their nose, the curl of their fingers, the way they settle when you hold them close. These days are tender and fleeting, a blur you won’t fully realize is passing until it already has. The sleepy stretches, the milk-drunk smiles, the way they fit so perfectly into the crook of your arms. This is the beginning of your family’s story with them. It would be an honour to preserve this brief, beautiful chapter for you.
I have two young children who leave me both more tired and more fulfilled than I ever imagined possible. When you invite me to document your family’s story, I do so through the lens of my own lived experience – with a deep understanding of how hard, how sweet, how chaotic, and how once-in-a-lifetime this season truly is. I’m drawn to the small, honest details: hands clasped tight, tears and skinned knees, wild laughter and gentle touches. I photograph these moments while thinking about the version of you decades from now; what they’ll want to remember, what will bring them back here.

She makes you feel so comfortable and confident —which was incredibly helpful when I was 8 months pregnant and we did our maternity photos and then again when I was 10 days postpartum for our newborn photos. She has captured so many moments that warm my heart and make me tear up. I cannot express how much we’ve loved working with Alyssa and I’m glad I have her photos of us to last a life time!

Alyssa works absolute magic! She immediately became someone we wanted to be friends with and made us feel truly comfortable. She is the kindest person with the purest heart and wanted what was best for us at ALL times. We cannot thank her enough for the lifetime of memories we now have because of the pictures she took of us

Alyssa is so incredibly talented and gifted in what she does. She captures special moments so perfectly and photographs in a way that makes not only the memories but the emotions visibly felt through the picture. She is warm, incredibly sweet, and personable--making a couple that feels awkward posing in any way/infront of a camera feel at ease and comfortable. She cares so well for her clients. I love all her work and highly recommend her to anyone.
